"...a brilliantly adventurous dramatic score..."
 Newsday, 12/26/99

Featuring an all-new recording of Bob Marley's "One Love" performed by the Gipsy Kings with Ziggy Marley, Tsidii Le Loka, and the Boys Choir of Harlem.

On the morning of December 31, 1999 "2000 Today", the most ambitious television production ever mounted, went on-air live via PBS and ABC stations across the United States. This unprecedented collaboration between 57 worldwide broadcasters followed the celebrations as millennium events unfolded from Chile to Japan, Auckland to Miami, France to Fiji. "2000 Today" united parties and prayers around the whole world as the sun set on the 20th century and rose on a new millennium. The broadcast crossed 24 time zones during 26 hours of programming and had a global audience of billions.

The uniting force behind this amazing televised celebration was an original score by composer Tan Dun. His World Symphony for the Millennium was featured on PBS and ABC throughout the promotions leading up to the broadcast and throughout the broadcast itself, providing musical stepping stones from country to country, culture to culture, day to night.

The vocal anthem for this amazing event was an all-new recording of the classic Bob Marley song "One Love" with best-selling recording artists The Gipsy Kings, Ziggy Marley, Tsidii Le Loka, and the Boys Choir of Harlem collaborating to renew this much-loved song that is so symbolic of love and hope. This new version of "One Love" is only available on the "2000 Today" soundtrack album.

A World Symphony for the Millennium is performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, the London Voices, the New London Children's Choir, and an amazing group of world instrument performers from around the world. "One Love" was performed live by the Gipsy Kings as part of the broadcast from Miami, FL.
